Search and Replace is the flagship product of software developer Funduc Software. According to its developer, Search and Replace is an “easy to use search and replace utility loved by programmers, webmasters, and novice computer users alike.” I have to say I agree with that statement – there is much to like about the Search and Replace application.

Starting in a logical progression, here are the bits and pieces I liked about this application. First up I liked that I did not have to wait a long time to get the app off the web and onto my computer. Since the Search and Replace download weighs in at some 1.6MB, it couldn’t have taken long for the download to complete, now could it?

Next up I liked that installing Search and Replace only took a moment. The whole process what straightforward and went along smoothly. I should mention that Search and Replace can be installed on just about any version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system, including the latest iteration, Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit version).

Once Search and Replace was up and running, I liked the functionality it provided. What Search and Replace does is it looks for the string you specify; it looks through all the files you have stored on your machine. When it encounters that string, it can replace it with another string. Search and Replace can search subdirectories and ZIP files and do case sensitive or insensitive searches.

The bottom line is that Search and Replace is a very easy to use, powerful search and replace utility that can be used on any Windows version.
